"I source from two genres, traditional Irish step and contemporary modern dance, and define my style as ModERIN. I feel two pulls, one toward tradition and another toward innovation, and seek to create dance in the space between. Dance in Ireland traditionally happened at a crossroads - a reminder to respect the road that led me to a place of intersecting genres, while simultaneously remaining curious about the path that lies ahead..." “Ms. Carr’s immensely likable and skillful dancers move with a space-gobbling buoyancy and openness that looks as if they might take flight... Carr is a smiling, exuberant performer with an open upper body and fast flying feet, straight out of Irish step dancing... Putting a new wrinkle into New York modern dance with a program of pieces that add Irish step dancing to the modern mix... ”
Jennifer Dunning, The New York Times
“Other standouts were Darrah Carr, a radiant performer who has a terrific chemistry with her longtime partner, Mr. O’Leary.”
